If the rod [1] does not enter the hole provided in the engine block, when the rods are in place, remove the crankshaft pulley :

2 - 2 - PULLEY WITH INDEXING

The index mark (b) must be aligned with the axis of the timing hole; If this is not the case, Replace the crankshaft pulley .
