REMOVAL - REFITTING INJECTOR

IMPERATIVE : do not disconnect the injector ith the engine running ; when working on the diesel circuit, follow the advice on cleanliness ; if any work is carried out on the high pressure pipes they must always be replaced .

1 - SPECIAL TOOLS

[1] Set of plugs (-).0188-T .

[2] Torque tightening kit for diesel high pressure circuit (-).1603-ZZ .

2 - REMOVAL

IMPERATIVE : before any repair : wait 30 seconds after the ignition has been switched off .

Remove the styling cover from the engine .

Disconnect :

• the battery
• the sensors (1) - (2) - (3)
• the connectors (4)

Move aside :

• the injectors harness (5)
• the oil vapours breather tube (6)
• the priming pump

Remove :

• the priming pump bracket (7)
• the bracket (8) for the style cover

Remove the diesel return pipe (9), moving the pin away towards the outside with a screwdriver .

IMPERATIVE : blank the holes with the caps [1] ; clean the high pressure unions before slackening .

Unscrew :

• the connector (10), keeping the connector on the injector (A) by means of an open ended spanner
• the pipe (11)

Remove the fuel high pressure tube (12) from the injector to be removed .

IMPERATIVE : blank the holes with the caps [1] .

Remove :

• the bolt (13)
• the injector fixing fork (14)
• the injector fixing fork (15) thrust pin
• the injector
• the injector fixing fork (14)
• the sealing ring (between the injector and the cylinder head)
• the injector edge copper seal

Clean the recess of each injector .

IMPERATIVE : cover the injector recesses and the injector edges by means of the caps [1] .

3 - REFITTING

IMPERATIVE : if any work is carried out on the high pressure pipes they must always be replaced .

Remove the blanking caps [1] from the injector recesses .

Position :

• the new copper seal of the injector edge
• the new sealing ring
• the injector
• the injector fixing fork (15) thrust pin
• the injector fixing fork (14)
• the bolt (13) (finger tighten)
• the diesel return pipe (9) on the injectors
• the fuel high pressure tube (12) (tighten the unions by hand)

Tighten :

• tighten the bolt (13) to 3.5 da.Nm

Pre-tighten the connections (11) - (10) to 2.4 dan.m .

Tighten :

• the union (11) to 2.8 daN.m
• the union (10) to 2.5 daN.m

Continue the fitting operations in the reverse order to removal .

Re-prime the diesel circuit using the priming pump .

Initialise the various ECUs .

3 - 1 - LEAKAGE CHECK

Start the engine .

Check that there are no fuel leaks .
