GENERAL (AUTOMATIC GEARBOX)

1 - TOWING

The gearbox is lubricated by engine rotation, when being towed, the driving wheels must be off the ground .

Towing with the driving wheels on the ground is nevertheless possible, but must remain exceptional .

IMPERATIVE : abide by the following conditions .

Towing :

• for a maximum distance of 50 km
• at a speed below 50 km/h
• gear lever in position N
• with the vehicle horizontal or a maximum inclination of 5 ° if necessary to raise the rear wheels

2 - REPAIRS/MECHANICAL

The gearbox is lubricated only when the engine is running .

When driving :

• never coast with the ignition switched off
• never attempt to push start the vehicle (impossible with an automatic gearbox)

Never place the gearbox on the ground without protection .

Never use the connectors as a handle for lifting, turning, holding or pushing the gearbox .

Always fit the converter support pin when the automatic gearbox is removed .

Remove the pin just before lining up the engine and the automatic gearbox .

When carrying out work inside the gearbox, take all necessary precautions regarding cleanliness .

3 - REPAIRS/ELECTRICAL

Do not disconnect :

• the battery with the engine running
• the control unit with ignition on

Before re-connecting a connector, check :

• the condition of the various contacts (distortion, corrosion etc.)
• the presence and condition of the connector locking mechanism

During electrical checks :

• the battery must be fully charged
• never use a voltage source higher than 16 V
• never use a test lamp

4 - DEFAULT MODE

IMPERATIVE : while driving in downgraded mode (automatic gearbox locked in hydraulic gear no. 3) do not exceed a speed of 100 km/h .
