CHECK - ADJUSTMENT INPUT SHAFT BEARINGS
1 - PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS
Stripping the gearbox .
Removal :
Refitting the bearing guide tube .
2 - CHECK - ADJUSTMENT
remove the input shaft rear bearing outer race using the drift [3] .
WARNING : bearings removed must not be re-used .
refit the bearing outer race in the casing, with the press and using the fitting drifts [3] - [5] (Replace the bearing removed with a new one) .
Extract the bearing outer race (1) .
Measure the thickness of the shim (2) .
Under the bearing race fit an adjustment shim which must be 0,20 mm thinner than the original shim .

Fit :
Rotate the shaft several turns .
Fit the nut (6), contact surface facing outwards .
Tighten the nut a little (6) .
place the dial gauge [12] on the mounting [11a] - [11b] - [11c] .
Position the sensor on the nut (6) .
Exert an axial thrust downwards on the shaft .
Zero the dial gauge .
Push the shaft axially, upwards, .
Read the value :
Remove :
3 - COMPLEMENTARY OPERATION(S)
NOTE : observe the cleaning and refitting conditions .
Refitting :
Reassembling the gearbox .
