REMOVAL - REFITTING INPUT AND OUTPUT SHAFTS

1 - PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS

Stripping the gearbox .

Removal of the gearbox casing .

2 - REMOVAL

Remove : The oil neck (1) .

Remove the reverse shaft and sliding gear (2) .

Rotate and remove the 5th gear shaft (3) .

Remove the fork shaft (4) by pulling upwards .

Pivot the fork (5) .

Free the clutch housing shafts by a few millimetres .

Tilt the right hand part of the fork downwards .

Remove the fork (5) .

Remove the 1st/2nd gears and forks assembly .

Observe the cleaning and refitting conditions .

Removing the bearing guide tube .

Refitting the bearing guide tube .

Checking-adjustment of the input shaft bearings .

Refitting the input and output shafts .

Refitting the gearbox cover .

Reassembling the gearbox .

3 - REFITTING

Couple the input shaft and the output shaft with the 1st/2nd gear fork .

Position the gears in the casing .

Fit :

• the 3rd/4th fork (5)

WARNING : before refitting the shaft (4), position the fork (5) on the gear lever (6) and the fork (7) on the rail (8) .

Fit :

• the 1st/2nd - 3rd/4th gear fork shaft (4)

WARNING : observe the direction of the shaft (4) .

Refit the 5th gear fork shaft (3) .

Refit the reverse gear and shaft (2), the tooth lead (A) facing downwards .

WARNING : ensure that the pin (9) is positioned correctly in the housing .

Position : The oil neck (1) .
