REMOVAL - REFITTING MA GEARBOX

1 - SPECIAL TOOLS

[1] Power train support crossmember (-).0009 .

2 - REMOVAL

Remove :

• the oil vapour breather pipes
• the air cleaner
• the air outlet union
• the exhaust expansion chamber

Remove :

• the battery cover
• the front left mud shield
• the battery support bolt (1)
• the battery
• the battery support

Detach the slave cylinder (2) from the clutch housing .

Remove :

• the bolt (5)
• the nut (4)
• the connector (3)

Remove :

• the connector (6)
• the bolts (7)
• the bolt (8)
• the clutch housing lower mounting bolts

Unclip the gearbox control cables using a screwdriver :

• press on the 2 metal lugs then detach the gearbox control cables from the support

Raise the vehicle .

Remove the drive shafts .

Remove the bolt (9) .

Lower the vehicle .

REMOVE THE SCREEN WIPER MECHANISM .

WARNING : protect the base of the windscreen using a seal .

Position the tools [1] - [2] - [3] - [4] .

Hook the gearbox at (B) .

Remove :

• the flexible mounting (10)
• the gearbox shaft bracket (11)
• the flexible mounting support (12)

Remove :

• the bolts (13)
• the engine speed sensor bracket (14)
• the gearbox

3 - REFITTING

Check :

• there are no oil leaks at the stop guide (15)
• there are no oil leaks at the crankshaft seal (16)
• the state of wear of the clutch

Replace the differential outlet seals .

APPLY A FINE COAT OF G12 TO THE CLUTCH STOP GUIDE .

NOTE : do not grease the input shaft splines .

Fit :

• the gearbox
• the bolts securing the gearbox to the engine (4 da.Nm)
• the bracket (11) (2.5 da.Nm)
• the flexible mounting (10)
• the nut (17) (6.5 da.Nm)
• the flexible mounting support (12) (3 da.Nm)

Relieve the pressure on the flexible shim using the power train support crossmember .

Reposition the flexible shim in contact with its support .

Refit the bolts (18) (3 da.Nm) .

Remove the tools [1] - [2] - [3] - [4] .

Refit the clutch release hydraulic control .

Apply and release the clutch several times fully .

Check that there are no points of resistance .

Refit the drive shafts .

Continue the fitting operations in the reverse order to removal .
