DRAINING - FILLING - BLEEDING HYDRAULIC CIRCUIT

1 - PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN

Carry out the operation with care in order to prevent the entry of contaminating particles .

Use new fluid when filling and topping up the system .

2 - DRAINING THE CIRCUIT

Draining the hydraulic circuit must be performed with : With the engine stopped .

Remove the style cover .

Remove the filler cap (1) .

Remove the bolts (2) .

DW10TD ENGINE DW10ATED ENGINE

Uncouple the exhaust rubber bushes connected to the sub-frame .

ALL MODELS

Remove the bolts (3) .

Lower the sub-frame by approximately 30 mm .

Remove the heat shield (4) .

Unclamp the steering pipes near the valve .

Remove the bolt (5) .

Using a lever, move aside the clamp (6) from the valve .

WARNING : handle using a clean tool, gently, to avoid damaging the valve .

Direct the pipes into a container .

Turn the steering slowly from lock to lock in each direction .

Wait for the fluid to finish draining .

3 - REFILLING

WARNING : carry out the operation with care in order to prevent the entry of contaminating particles .

Refit the new seals (7) .

Fit :

IMPERATIVE : use new fluid when filling and topping up the system .

Proceed in the reverse order to removal .

Tightening torque(s) :

Fill the power steering reservoir to the maximum mark (8) of the cap (1) .

With the engine not running, turn the steering slowly from lock to lock in both directions : 10 times (Approximately) .

Top up to the maximum mark (8) of the cap (1) .

4 - BLEEDING THE HYDRAULIC CIRCUIT

Run the engine at idle for 3 minutes, without moving the steering wheel .

Keep the fluid level topped up .

Bleed the circuit by turning the steering several times in each direction .

Keep the fluid level topped up .

IMPERATIVE : use new fluid when filling and topping up the system .
