REMOVAL - REFITTING SUB-FRAME

1 - SPECIAL TOOLS

[1] Ball joint extractor (-).0709 .

[4] Swivel ball joint uncoupling lever (-).0622 .

2 - REMOVAL

Place the vehicle on a lift .

Slacken the wheel bolts .

Lift and support the vehicle with front wheels suspended .

Remove the wheels .

DW10TD ENGINE DW10ATED ENGINE

Uncouple the sub-frame and the exhaust at (A) .

ALL MODELS

Remove the nuts (1) .

Uncouple the pivot from the wishbone using the tool [1] .

Detach the wishbone using the uncoupling lever [4] .

Position a hydraulic stand (B) under the sub-frame .

Remove :

• the (2) bolts
• the (3) bolts
• the nuts (5) and their pin fixing the rack to the sub-frame
• the wishbone rear fixing nuts (4)
• the wishbone front fixing nuts (6)

Remove the lower engine fixing bolt (7) .

Unclamp the fixings (8) of the sub-frame power steering pipes .

Remove the front sub-frame fixing bolts (9) .

Lower the sub frame .

Remove the front arms .

3 - REFITTING

Proceed in the reverse order to removal .

WARNING : the rear sub-frame mountings (10) and (11) are positioned in relation to the body by means of pins at (A) and (B) .

Tightening torques :

• pivot ball joint nut(1) : 5 da.Nm
• bolt (2) securing anti-roll bar bearing to sub frame : 10.4 da.Nm
• bolts (3) - (9) for securing the sub-frame to the body : 10 da.Nm
• wishbone fixing nuts (4) - (6) : 12.8 da.Nm
• steering rack fixing nuts (5) : 8 da.Nm
• torque reaction rod bracket(7) : 6 da.Nm
• wheel bolts : 9 da.Nm
