REMOVAL - REFITTING QUARTER LIGHT

1 - REMOVAL

Open the quarterlight .

Remove the quarter light seal on the body .

Close the window .

Fit adhesive tape to move aside the bonded seal on the quarter light and to protect the body during cutting .

TO THE ELECTRIC KNIFE [11A] FIT THE BLADE [14C] NO. 154 .

A = 210 mm .

B = 210 mm .

IMPERATIVE : when cutting the beads of adhesive, take great care not to damage the quarter light bonded seal and the clip (1) bonded to the quarter light .

Begin cutting the quarter light at (A) .

Continue cutting the quarter light at (B) .

Remove the quarter light opening control fixing at (C) .

Unclip the clip (1) .

Remove the quarter light glass .

2 - REFITTING

2 - 1 - PREPARATION OF THE FLANGE AND QUARTER LIGHT

Protect the inside of the vehicle .

TO THE ELECTRIC KNIFE [11A] FIT THE BLADE [15] NO. 146 .

Smooth the beads of adhesive on the quarter light .

WARNING : do not damage the bonded seal on the quarter light .

Trim the bead of adhesive on the flange .

Touch up with anti-corrosion product .

degrease the flange and the quarter light using the product chosen from the bonding kit .

Allow to dry for 10 mn .

apply the metal and glass primers selected from the adhesive kit .

2 - 2 - BONDING

Fit the mastic mixer assembly to the extruder gun .

use the nozzle supplied in the bonding kit [1] .

Cut the nozzle to 8 mm dia. at 12 mm from the tip USING THE SPECIAL PLIERS FOR CUTTING NOZZLES [7] .

IMPERATIVE : the bead of adhesive must never touch the bonded seal on the quarter light or the clip .

D = Centreline of adhesive .

E = Edge of the quarter light .

Apply the beads of adhesive .

IMPERATIVE : no more than 8 minutes must elapse between applying the mastic and positioning the glass (for the quick bonding adhesive mastics) .

WARNING : when refitting the quarter light, ensure that the clip is positioned correctly .

Refit the quarter light pressing on the glass so that the clip falls into position .

Refit the quarter light opening control fixing .

EXERT A CONSTANT PRESSURE USING THE SUCTION CUPS WITH WIRES [5] .

Allow to cure for 30 minutes before handling .

Continue the fitting operations in the reverse order to removal .

Check the sealing of the quarter light .

Clean the glass .
