REMOVAL - REFITTING VARIABLE TIMING CAMSHAFT (VTC)
1 - SPECIAL TOOLS
[1] Depending on the vehicle, the engine may be installed inclined or straight .
[2] Open ended spanner (-).0187-P .
[3] Fitting drift for camshaft seal (-).0187-D .
2 - REMOVAL
ES9J4S ENGINE
remove the timing belt .
Refit the right-hand engine mounting .
Move aside the harnesses .
Remove the cylinder head cover (1) .
Inclined engine installation .
Remove The vtc cover .
Slacken the bolt (2) .
WARNING : oil filter cartridge .
{{N3923}} déposer l'ensemble VTC/poulie (3) .
Repeat the operation for the second camshaft .
remove the inlet manifold .
3 - REFITTING
IMPERATIVE : always replace the vtc cover and the vtc securing bolt .
Fit a new lip seal using the tool [3] .
{{N3924}} reposer l'ensemble VTC/poulie .
{{N3925}} reposer une vis neuve (2) .
Inclined engine installation .
Tighten the bolt (2) to 2 da.Nm .
{{N3926}} effectuer un serrage angulaire de 57 ° à l'aide d'un outil genre FACOM D.360 .
{{N3927}} reposer un bouchon de VTC neuf : Tightening torque 1.1 da.Nm .
Fit the cylinder head cover .
Pre-tighten : 0.5 da.Nm .
Tightening torque 0.8 da.Nm .
Check of tightening to 0.8 da.Nm .
Repeat the operation for the second camshaft .
Pre-tighten : 0.5 da.Nm .
Tightening torque 0.8 da.Nm .
Check of tightening to 0.8 da.Nm .
Remove the right-hand engine mounting .

refit the timing belt .
