REMOVAL - REFITTING THERMOSTAT

1 - REMOVAL

Disconnect :

• the connector (1)

Remove :

• the air cleaner and its outlet pipe (2)

drain the cooling system .

Move aside :

• the pipe (8)
• the pipe (6)
• the bracket (3)
• the rear charging pipe

ML5T GEARBOX

Move aside :

• the pipe (7)

Remove :

• the mounting tab of the pipe (7) at A

4HP20 AUTOMATIC GEARBOX

Move aside :

• the automatic gearbox heat exchanger pipe (5)

ALL MODELS

Remove :

• the coolant manifold (4)

Remove the thermostat (9) .

2 - REFITTING

Always renew :

• the thermostat seal (10)

Position :

• the coolant manifold (4)

Run up the bolts .

Tighten :

• the bolts (M8) to 2,5 da.Nm
• the bolts (M6) to 0,8 da.Nm

Continue the fitting operations in the reverse order to removal .

fill and bleed the cooling system .
