DRAINING FUEL TANK

1 - TOOLS REQUIRED

[1] Fuel draining unit, Approval number(s) 991467; 991468; 991469 .

2 - DRAINING

IMPERATIVE : this operation must be carried out with the ignition off in order not to interfere with the operation of the gauge .

Position the suction tube in the filler neck .

Slightly lift the vehicle at the left rear side .

DW12TED4 ENGINE

The fuel which is retrieved contains an additive for particulate emission filter requirements .

It is therefore important to put back all the fuel which was previously removed .

This fuel is not compatible for engines without a particulate emission filter .

3 - REFILLING

Use the equipment [1] in the usual filling direction .

DW12TED4 ENGINE

If the fuel taken during the draining operation is not re-usable (water or impurities present), proceed as follows :

• position the cap
• turn on the ignition for 5 seconds (minimum)
• switch off the ignition
• remove the plug
• fill with fuel

This operation allows the additive ecu to inject the quantity of additive corresponding to the quantity of diesel added .
