MECHANICAL ACTION FUNCTION SHIFT-LOCK

1 - REMINDER

1 - 1 - PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

The Shift-Lock function is a safety system which immobilises the gear selection lever in position P if the driver does not press the brake pedal .

1 - 2 - RELEASING THE SHIFT-LOCK

Gear lever in position P .

Switch on the ignition .

Press the brake pedal .

Move the gear selection lever .

2 - UNABLE TO RELEASE THE FUNCTION : SHIFT-LOCK

Causes :

• battery voltage
• electro-magnet on the gear selection lever unit
• multi-function switch
• automatic transmission control unit
• electrical harness
• brake pedal switch
• emergency solution :

Remove the shaped ring (1) .

Release the Shift-Lock using a screwdriver .

Release the Shift-Lock using a screwdriver .
