DIFFERENTIAL HOUSING ASSEMBLY

1 - REASSEMBLING

Check that centralising pins (3) are present and that the half casing joint face is clean .

COAT THE JOINT FACE (E10) WITH A THIN, EVEN LAYER OF JOINTING COMPOUND .

Into the casing fit the differential (4) fitted with the bearing outer races (5)-(6) .

1 - 1 - EARLIER ASSEMBLY

Fit a new oil seal (5) in the retaining plate (6) using tool [1] .

Fit an o-ring (7) in the support plate groove (6) .

1 - 2 - LATER ASSEMBLY

Fit a new oil seal (5) in the retaining plate (6) using tool [1] .

APPLY A BEAD OF SILICON E12 AT THE RADIUS WITH THE CENTRING DIAMETER (A) .

Fit :

• the differential half-casing (7)
• the bolts (8)-(9)
• the bearing retaining plate (10)
• the bolts (11)

Fit the seal (12) using the fitting drift [2], to the speedometer gear side .

Tighten :

• the bolts (8 ø M10) to 4 da.Nm
• the bolts (9) to 2 da.Nm
• the bolts (11 ø M8) to 2 da.Nm
