REFITTING 5TH SPEED GEAR

1 - REFITTING

Refit the gear 5th (1) .

FIT THE 5TH SPEED SYNCHRONISER (2) USING TOOL [14] AND THE FORK (3) .

REMOVE THE TOOL [14] .

NOTE : if action has been taken on the output shaft, engage 2 gears and tighten the output shaft nut to 17 m.daN .

FIT THE HALF MOON (4) USING TOOL [10] .

Nip up the bolt (5) .

2 - ADJUSTMENT

IMPERATIVE : the efficiency of the reverse brake depends on the adjustment of the 5th gear fork .

Pull the fork shaft in the direction of the arrow (A) .

Push the fork in the direction of the arrow (B) until there is contact fork/synchroniser (Area of contact (C)) .

Tighten the fork nut (5) .

M7 : 1,5 da.Nm .

M8 : 2 da.Nm .

Add a drop of loctite SR290 to bond the 5th gear fork to its shaft .

Fit :

• the rubber seal (6) to the 5 th speed casing (7)
• the 5th speed casing (7)
• the bolts (8)

Tighten the bolts (8) to 2 daN.m .
