REMOVAL - REFITTING RACK DAMPER (METAL DAMPER BOLT)

1 - REMOVAL

Remove :

• the steering mechanism

WARNING : to avoid polluting the power steering system, close both the distributor valve openings and both the steering pipes using plastic plugs .

Remove :

• the bolt (1)
• the spring (2)
• the O-ring (3)

Remove :

• {{o96664}} le poussoir (4) a l'aide d'une pince circlips
• the ring (5) (steering with integral ram)

2 - REFITTING

Protect the hole (A) from the swarf using a lint-free cloth .

{{O96665}} réparer le taraudage du carter à l'aide d'un taraud de M10 X 150 ou d'un filon .

Always renew :

• the ring (5)
• the thrust button (4)
• the O-ring (3)
• the spring (2)
• the bolt (1)

IMPERATIVE : grease the entire assembly with TOTAL N3924/N3945 grease .

Fit :

• the ring (5)
• the thrust button (4)
• the O-ring (3)
• the spring (2)
• the bolt (1)

Position the rack at the mid-point .

Tighten the bolt (1) to 0.5 da.Nm .

Move the rack through its travel 3 times from stop to stop .

Position the rack at the mid-point .

adjust the damper .
