End to end assembly of the sides of panels of different thicknesses by laser welding before pressing .

Tail panel inner panel :

• (1) panel 0.77mm thickness
• (2) panel 1.76mm thickness
• (A) joining by laser welding

Passenger compartment side inner panel :

• (3) a post stiffener, panel 1.47mm thickness
• (4) windscreen pillar stiffener, panel 0.97mm thickness
• (5) centre pillar inner panel, panel 0.67mm thickness
• (6) sill web, panel 0.77mm thickness
• (A) joining by laser welding

Rear parcel tray :

• (7) panel 1.17mm thickness
• (8) panel 0.67mm thickness
• (A) joining by laser welding
