ADJUSTMENT HEADLAMPS

1 - TOOLING

[1] Adjustment checking device, Type 432 mm .

2 - VEHICLE PREPARATION

Unload the vehicle,Check the fuel tank which should be half full .

Remove any excessive accumulation of mud, snow or ice which could affect the ride height of the vehicle .

Check the pressure of the tyres which must be inflated to the pressure specified by the manufacturer under normal road conditions .

Park the vehicle on level ground, wheels straight ahead .

Switch on the headlamps and check the operation of the load corrector by turning the adjusting knob and place it in the normal load position 0 .

IMPERATIVE : for vehicles fitted with an automatic height adjuster (discharge bulb version), adjustment will be carried out with the engine running .

Check the operation of the automatic height adjusters, headlamps on, exerting pressure at the rear of the vehicle and checking the stability of the beam .

3 - PREPARATION OF THE ADJUSTMENT CHECKING DEVICE AND ALIGNMENT WITH THE VEHICLE

Prepare the alignment bar (1) with the position locking lever (2) turned towards the adjustment checking device .

Adjust the angle of the cell (3) near the vehicle using a leveller (4), and tighten the lever (5) .

Move the adjustment checking device towards the headlamp .

Pull out the retractable checking rod (6) until the green part appears .

Place the point of the rod facing the centre line of the headlamp to be adjusted .

Adjust the position of the alignment bar (1) which must be in contact with the wheels of the vehicle .

Tighten the adjustment checking device position locking levers (7) .

4 - ADJUSTMENT OF THE HEADLAMP

Apply the adjustment checking device adjustment procedure in line with the equipment's instruction manual .

Register the angle of the vehicle and stop adjustment at this stage on the control panel .

Align the headlamp beam (A) slightly below the line of demarcation (B) .

The adjustment is carried out .
