REMOVAL - REFITTING ALTERNATOR

1 - REMOVAL

Disconnect the battery .

REMOVE THE ANCILLARY DRIVE BELT .

Remove :

• remove the right style cover (1)

Remove :

• the power steering pump pulley bolts (2)
• the power steering pump pulley

Remove the engine protection housing from under the engine if necessary .

Remove :

• the 2 bolts (3) from the rear mounting
• the 2 bolts and nuts (4) at the front of the turbocharger

Disconnect the connector (5), Cut the tie-wrap .

Move aside the turbocharger and attach it under the front crossmember .

Unclip the harness (6) from the turbocharger at (A) .

Remove the alternator ventilation cover (7) (pull on it to unclip it) .

Remove the bottom bolts (8) from the alternator .

Disconnect the wires (9) et (10) .

Remove the upper securing bolts (11) et (12) from the alternator and retrieve the nuts, while keeping the alternator in position .

Remove the alternator .

2 - REFITTING

Take care to position the harnesses correctly in the clips of the alternator :

• oil sensor harness (13) in the clip (B)
• turbocharger harness (14) in the clip (C)

Continue refitting using the reverse procedure to removal .

Tighten the bolts (8), (11), (12) to 4 daN.m .
