VAG-COM
Fault Code Screen
(VAG 1551/1552 functions 02 & 05)

On this screen, VAG-COM shows you any DTC's
(Diagnostic Trouble Codes, aka Fault Codes).

This example is from an 2000 GTI 1.8T ECU
which was being bench tested (not installed in
a car) hence the large number of fault codes.
You can see that VAG-COM shows the DTC
numbers and  also decodes each DTC into
meaningful text.

Print Codes will print a Fault Code Report
If your PC is not connected to a printer
when you do this, use Windows to set
the printer to "Work Off-Line" first!
Then later, when you connect your
PC to your printer, simply un-check
"Work Off-Line" and your report will print.

Copy Codes will allow you to paste the
results into the application of your choice..

Clear Codes erase the DTC's from the Control
Module's memory.   Be aware, this is no panacea.
DTC's should only be erased after correcting the
condition(s) that caused them in the first place.
Note:  There is no way to erase individual DTC's
while leaving others alone.  This is not a limitation in
VAG-COM, it's just the way the VAG protocols work.

Go Back takes you back to the main Control
Module screen where you can select other functions.
It is also the only button that works in this Demo.

Shareware Limitation(s):
The Unregistered/Unactivated version of
VAG-COM will only decode a fraction of
the DTC's it finds into text.  However, it will
always show all DTC numbers.
