REMOVAL - REFITTING POWER STEERING ELECTRIC PUMP ASSEMBLY

1 - REMOVAL

WARNING : carry out the operation with care in order to prevent the entry of contaminating particles .

Remove :

• the style cover
• the screenwash reservoir filler spout

Raise the vehicle .

DRAIN THE HYDRAULIC CIRCUIT .

WARNING : the presence of oil on the electro-pump assembly connections is strictly prohibited .

Remove :

• the front right-hand wheel
• the front right mud shield

Drain the screenwash reservoir (1) removing the electric pump (2) at (A) .

Remove the nut (3) .

Vehicle fitted with headlamp washers : (according to specification) .

Remove the electric pump (4) at (B) .

Remove the screenwash reservoir (1) .

Remove the bolt (5) .

Move aside the pipes (6) - (7) (do not twist the pipe (7)) .

Plug the openings .

IMPERATIVE : always switch off the ignition before disconnecting the electro-pump assembly .

Disconnect the electrical connections .

Remove :

• the lower mounting bolt (8)
• the upper mounting bolts (9)
• the power steering pump (10)

2 - REFITTING

IMPERATIVE : always refit the lower mounting bolt washer (8) ; always replace the pipe clip (7) .

WARNING : check that the screenwash reservoir upper mounting clip is positioned correctly .

Proceed in the reverse order to removal .

Tightening torques :

• the bolt (5) : 9 da.Nm
• the lower mounting bolt (8) : 1.7 da.Nm
• the upper mounting bolts (9) : 2.3 da.Nm
• the nut (3) : 0.5 da.Nm

Fill the screenwash reservoir .

IMPERATIVE : use new fluid when filling and topping up the system .

FILL AND BLEED THE HYDRAULIC CIRCUIT .

Reinitialise the various ecus .
