REMOVAL - REFITTING ASSEMBLY COM 2000

1 - REMOVAL

IMPERATIVE : place the wheels in the straight ahead position .

REMOVE THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG .

Disconnect the remaining connector at the bottom on the steering wheel .

IMPERATIVE : slacken the steering wheel fixing bolt by 2 turns ; detach the steering wheel from the steering column cone .

Remove :

• the steering wheel fixing bolt
• the steering wheel, after routing the connectors through the opening on the steering wheel alternately
• THE STEERING COLUMN COWLING

Disconnect the connectors .

Slacken the tightening clip bolt (1) .

Detach the switches assembly COM 2000 moving aside the two locking clips (2) .

Remove the switches assembly COM 2000 .

2 - ADJUSTMENT : ROTARY CONNECTOR

NOTE : the rotary switch with a new COM 2000 does not have to be set .

2 - 1 - COM 2000 OF THE BRAND EATON

Press at the centre of the rotary switch (3) and turn it until the 3 marking triangles (4) - (5) - (6) are aligned .

2 - 2 - COM 2000 OF THE BRAND SYLEA

Press at the centre of the rotary switch (3) and turn it in one direction, to the limit .

Still pressing, turn it in the other direction, to the limit, and count the number of turns (5 turns approximately) .

Then turn the switch to place it in the central position (2 turns approximately) .

NOTE : the air bag harnesses must be at the top .

3 - REFITTING

IMPERATIVE : check the setting of the rotary switch on the COM 2000 before refitting it ; place the wheels in the straight ahead position .

Proceed in the reverse order to removal .

Check the electrical operation .
