REMOVAL - REFITTING FRONT SPRING

1 - SPECIAL TOOLS

[1] ME compressor .

[2] Cups (Type M 12, Pink) .

12F Lower cup .

12C Upper cup .

2 - REMOVAL

REMOVE THE FRONT SUSPENSION COMPONENT .

Place the coils of the spring in the spring compressor support forks .

WARNING : the rubber stop (1) must not be in contact with the spring compressor thrust forks .

Compress the spring .

Remove :

• the nut (2)
• the washer (3)
• the cup (4)
• the rubber cup (5)
• the needle thrust bearing (6)
• the damper (7)
• the upper damper cup (8)

3 - REFITTING

WARNING : check the condition of the rubber components; change them if necessary .

WARNING : check the condition of the needle stop; change if necessary .

Fit : The upper damper cup .

IMPERATIVE : line up the spring end stop (1) with the hole (9) in the rubber cup .

Fit the damper .

IMPERATIVE : line up the spring coil end in contact with the angle of the cup .

Continue the fitting operations in the reverse order to removal .

4 - TIGHTENING TORQUES

Damper rod nut (2) : 6.5 da.Nm .
