REMOVAL - REFITTING HANDBRAKE SECONDARY CABLES

1 - REMOVAL

Remove the rear wheels .

Completely unscrew the nut (1) while keeping the bolt (2) immobile .

Uncouple the left secondary handbrake cable at (A) .

Remove : Spring clip (3) .

Unclip the cable at (B) .

Pull on the cable cover (4) according to (C) in order for the cable to appear .

Remove the closer using flat nosed pliers .

Position the hole according to the vertical axis (D) .

Slowly turn the disc to the rear (approximately 25 °) until it is possible to find the end of the secondary cable (shake the cable if necessary) .

Push the cable in accordance with (E) .

Push the end (6) of the cable against the locking spring (7) (according to F), using a thin screwdriver .

Pull the cable in the reverse direction from (E) to extract it .

Remove the cable .

2 - REFITTING

Push the end (6) of the cable into its housing until it locks in the separating mechanism (8) of the brake shoes .

Check that the end (6) of the cable is in the correct position .

Continue the fitting operations in the reverse order to removal .

3 - CABLE FREE PLAY

3 - 1 - IN THE EVENT OF ONLY SECONDARY CABLES BEING REPLACED

Screw the nut (1) to obtain play of X = 4 mm (pull the cables according to F to measure the play X) .

Pull the handbrake lever 10 times over the whole of its travel .

IMPERATIVE : ADJUST THE HANDBRAKE .

3 - 2 - IF THE SECONDARY CABLES AND THE PRIMARY CABLE ARE REPLACED

SQUEEZE THE CABLES TOGETHER .
