REMOVAL - REFITTING FRONT BRAKE PADS (BREMBO CALIPER)

1 - SPECIAL TOOLS

[1] Pliers : FACOM D60A type .

2 - REMOVAL

Remove the filter from the brake fluid reservoir .

Partially drain the brake fluid reservoir using a clean syringe .

Fit :

• the filter

Disconnect the brake pad wear warning leads (1) .

Remove :

• the pins (2) with a pin punch
• the spring (3)

Push the pistons fully back into their housings Using the tool [1] .

(Insert a wooden shim (A) between the tool [1] and the pad) .

Remove the brake pads .

Visually check :

• sealing around the pistons (4)
• the condition and the correct adjustment of the caps (5)

Check : THE DISC FOR WEAR .

Replace any defective parts .

3 - REFITTING

Clean :

• the caliper
• the brake disc using a suitable solvent (type HENKEL)

Grease :

• the sides (B) of the brake pads, without applying grease to the lining

IMPERATIVE : use the grease supplied with the new brake pads .

Always renew : The pins (2) .

Fit :

• brake pads (6)
• the spring (3)
• the pins (2) with a pin punch

Reconnect the brake pad wear warning leads .

(Route and clamp the harness correctly) .

Check the brake fluid level and top up if necessary .

IMPERATIVE : gradually apply the brake gently several times, engine running, before driving the vehicle .

Tighten the wheel bolts to 9 da.Nm .
