REMOVAL - REFITTING FIXED ROOF HEADLINING

1 - TOOLS TO BE MADE LOCALLY


Using a piece of sheet metal, make a spatula [1] approximately 600 mm long and approximately 110 mm wide .

IMPERATIVE : the corners of the spatula must be rounded off to avoid any headlining damage and deterioration ; grind the sides of the spatula blade to aid penetration of the tool and for improved cutting ; wear protective gloves during use .

2 - REMOVAL


Remove :

WARNING : on a sun visor with illuminated mirror, add a grommet for use on refitting .

5 DOOR SALOON

DETACH THE B/C POST UPPER TRIMS (4) .

3 DOOR SALOON

DETACH THE C POST UPPER TRIMS (4) .

ALL MODELS

Allow to hang .

Remove :

Detach the door aperture seals and the boot seal at the top .

Fold down the rear seat back rests .

WARNING : when detaching the headlining, do not damage the roof or the side air bag ; if the headlining is to be reused, do not fold it or replace it if the appearance is faulty .


Detach the headlining routing the tool [1] at (A) and pulling it .

With the help of a second operator, remove the headlining from the rear of the vehicle .

3 - REFITTING


Apply a layer of neoprene adhesive to the headlining .

Observe the bonding dimensions (B) .

Position the headlining correctly .

Continue the fitting operations in the reverse order to removal .

REFITTING OF THE ROOF CONSOLE .

WARNING : clean the headlining with soap and water or white spirit .
