REMOVAL - REFITTING LOWER REAR WISHBONE

1 - SPECIAL TOOLS

[1] Rear suspension units compression tool (-).0915-D .

[2] 2 rear spring compression cups (-).0915-D7 .

[3] 2 support rings (-).0915-D8 .

[4] Positioning calipers (-).0532-B .

2 - REMOVAL

POSITION THE TOOLS [1], [2], [3] .

Remove the mud-shield .

Uncouple the anti-roll bar link from the suspension arm (1) .

Lower the front of the rear suspension by removing the bolts (2) on each side of the vehicle .

To prevent removal of the exhaust line and the fuel tank, it is necessary to cut the front securing bolt (3) on the wishbone .

To remove the bolt(3), cut out using a reciprocating saw (4) or a drill (5) .

NOTE : when refitting, the new bolt will be fittted the other way round .

WARNING : do not damage the fuel tank .

Drift out the rest of the bolt (3) from the arm .

Disconnect the hose connector from the rigid brake pipes (6) .

Plug the openings .

Unclamp the brake pipe (6) .

Raise the wishbone at (A) to facilitate the removal of the wishbone securing bolts .

Remove :

3 - REFITTING

Proceed in the reverse order to removal .

WARNING : clean the bolt threads, lubricate the bolts with MOLYKOTE G RAPID PLUS grease + loctite .

Position the two calipers [4] at the front of the rear crossmember to align the rear crossmember .

Tighten the front fastener (2) on the rear suspension to 6.5 dan.m .

Remove the two calipers [4] .

Refit the wishbone securing bolts without tightening them (new bolt (3) fitted in the opposite direction to original) .

Tighten at (A) to obtain a dimension (b) between the two fittings of the shock absorber .

(b) = 425 mm .

Tighten the securing bolts (3) (To 4 da.Nm) .

Tighten the securing bolts (7) (To 8.5 da.Nm) .

Tighten the securing bolts (8) (To 4 da.Nm) .

Tighten the anti-roll bar link nut : 5.7 da.Nm .

BLEED THE BRAKES .

CHECK AND ADJUST THE REAR SUSPENSION .
