REMOVAL - REFITTING REAR SUSPENSION
1 - SPECIAL TOOLS
[1] Rear suspension units compression tool (-).0915-D .
[2] 2 rear spring compression cups (-).0917-D7 .
[3] Support rings (-).0915-D8 .
[4] Rear suspension bracket (-).0532-A .
[5] Positioning calipers (-).0532-B .
2 - REMOVAL
Removal of the rear axle is to be carried out preferably on a two post lift .
IMPERATIVE : before carrying out this operation, the vehicle must be secured to the lift using body sill clamps .
Remove the exhaust line in order to avoid damaging the hose .
POSITION THE COMPRESSION TOOLS OF THE REAR SUSPENSION UNITS [1], [2], [3] .
The threads of the compression tools must be lubricated before each use .
Compress the spring until the rear spring support is no longer in contact with the body .
Uncouple :
Remove :
Uncouple the height sensor rod (4) at (A) (according to specification) .
Using a jack, position the support [4] under the rear suspension .
Remove the mounting bolts of the suspension on the body shell .
Lower the rear axle, taking care to keep it correctly balanced .
3 - REFITTING
Position :
Then proceed in the reverse order to removal, taking the following precautions .
Position the 2 calipers [5] at the front of the rear crossmember to align the rear crossmember .
IMPERATIVE : do not forget to refit the abs sensors .
3 - 1 - GREASING OF THE SUSPENSION FIXING BOLTS ON THE BODY SHELL
Clean the bolt threads .
Lubricate the bolts with MOLYKOTE G RAPID PLUS grease .
Unscrew the nuts on the equipment [1], taking care that the rubber cups are correctly placed on the body shell spring supports .
3 - 2 - TIGHTENING TORQUES
Rear suspension to body 6.5 da.Nm .
