REMOVAL - REFITTING : ELECTRIC SUN ROOF MOTOR

1 - REMOVAL

Remove :

• THE SCREEN PILLAR TRIM PADS
• the sun visors as well as their hooks
• THE FRONT GRAB HANDLES
• the finishing seals for the sunroof
• THE ROOF CONSOLE

WARNING : on a sun visor with illuminated mirror, add a grommet for use on refitting .

Move aside the roof trim to insert 2 shims (1), of 100 mm between the inner panel and the moving panel .

NOTE : place the sunroof in the closed position ; in the event of an electrical failure, close the sunroof using a six sided spanner .

REMOVE THE SUNROOF MOVING PANEL .

Disconnect the electrical connection (2) .

Remove the fasteners (3) .

Remove the motor (4) .

2 - REFITTING

From each side, place the (5) and (6) mechanisms at point zero by applying the following procedure :

• move the (6) slide forward against the front stop
• move the runner (5) so that the holes (3 mm diameter) of the two mechanisms are aligned
• freeze this point zero position with the help of some (7) mm diameter pins 3

Put the engine back in position .

IMPERATIVE : check : the coupling of the motor to its mechanism .

Remove the pins (7) .

Tighten the fasteners (3) to 0,35 da.Nm .

Remake the electrical connection .

Initialise the sunroof function :

• start the vehicle
• slide the sunroof open and disconnect the electrical connection again while the glass panel is moving
• remake the electrical connection
• press the sunroof control switch to tilt it open (it is only possible to tilt the moving panel at this point in the process) ; hold down until the glass panel has come to a complete stop ( the glass panel will have tilted open fully then moved back slightly in the direction of closing)

The sunroof is then initialised .

Perform several tests of operation .

Continue the fitting operations in the reverse order to removal .
